Robbery and Attempted Murder Arrest
10/16/2026 "Media Release" - Chico Police Department

The Chico Police Department investigated a stabbing that occurred at a residence in the 2200 block of Ceres Ave. around 4:50 PM on September 25, 2026. The adult male victim suffered serious stabwounds but survived after treatment at a local hospital. The suspects fled before police arrival. Investigators identified two suspects during the subsequent investigation. Chico Police Detectives obtained two arrest warrants for those suspects.
On October 15th, 2026, the Butte County Sheriff’s Office served those warrants in an area outside the city of Oroville. Chico Police Detectives arrested Brian Martin (31) and Ariele Rostamo (30).
Martin was booked into Butte County Jail for attempted murder, robbery, battery, and conspiracy to commit a crime.
Rostamo was booked into Butte County Jail for burglary and conspiracy to commit a crime.
